The James Beard Foundation is made possible because of the generous support of our sponsors. Food purveyors, wine producers and distributors, appliance manufacturers, commodity marketing boards, and many other types of organizations related to the food industry make up the bulk of our corporate sponsorship base. Their sponsorship takes many forms. Some of it comes as in-kind donations of ingredients, wines, and other goods and services that help our events and other programs run efficiently. And the rest comes as cash donations, which are used to make up the operating budget of our various departments and programs.
The three main categories of sponsorship are House Purveyors, Awards Sponsors, and Event Sponsors. Many of our supporters participate in all three levels.
House Purveyors have agreed to supply premium ingredients, goods, and services to the Beard House and participants in Beard House events, either as a donation or at a substantially reduced cost.
