The James Beard Foundation salutes
“The Culinary Stars of Spain” at
The 17th ANNUAL HOLIDAY AUCTION & DINNER
Event: The James Beard Foundation Holiday Auction & Dinner raises money to cover the annual operating costs of the historic James Beard House, as well as help fund the Foundation’s national scholarship and grant programs, its library and archives, and many culinary events enjoyed and attended by aficionados of fine food and beverage.
Date/Location: Sunday, November 16, at The Essex House Hotel, 160 Central Park South, NYC
Time: 4:30 pm: Reception and Silent Auction
6:00 pm: Live Auction followed by Dinner
6:00 pm – 8:15 pm: Live auction lots featuring gourmet travel, one-of-a-kind culinary events, indulgent dinners, and other luxury lifestyle items. Dinner follows, with each table decorated and hosted by top New York City chefs and restaurateurs.
Dinner Chair: Gerry Dawes, Food and Wine Writer, specialist in Spanish food and wine.
Emcee: David Rosengarten, Editor-in-Chief, The Rosengarten Report
Honorees: The dinner will honor two of Spain’s (and the world’s) most renowned chefs:
Ferran Adrià, El Bulli, Roses and
Juan Mari Arzak, Restaurante Arzak, San Sebastian
Both chefs will be attending the auction.
