L1 - Modern Dinner at the Beard House

L4 - James Beard Foundation Award Winner Dinner by Marcus Samuelsson

Experience a gourmet evening for eight in your metro NY–area home (including suburbs) prepared by James Beard Foundation trustee Jason Wright, Senior Vice-President of Communications and Public Affairs at Merrill Lynch. One of three amateur chefs who cooked for (and were evaluated by) Daniel Boulud last fall in an article by Gillian Duffy of New York magazine, Wright held his own, earning praise from the culinary legend. The night will begin with hors d’oeuvre and continue on through a delicious three-course dinner, with wines from his spectacular cellar included.

Spend the day cooking with chef/owner Marco A. Moreira of Tocqueville. You’ll start at the Union Square Farmers’ Market, where you’ll pick up locally produced ingredients. Back at the restaurant’s new state-of-the-art kitchen, you’ll spend the rest of the day creating and executing a tasting menu for your five guests. Following dinner, you’ll join your guests in the dining room for dessert and Champagne.

Eric Ripert, the winner of multiple James Beard Foundation Awards and the chef/owner of the Michelin three-starred Le Bernardin, will prepare a dinner at the James Beard House for 50 people. “To my mind,” Alan Richman wrote in GQ, “Le Bernardin triumphs over all other restaurants in America.” Wines will be selected and generously donated by Jim Clendenen of Au Bon Climat.

L17 - Gary Danko’s California

Gary Danko, one of the Golden State’s most acclaimed chefs, has put together this package of Northern California highlights that will take the bidder and five lucky guests to fabulous hotels, restaurants, and wineries in San Francisco, Napa, Carmel, and Pebble Beach. Naturally, you’ll also enjoy a superb meal at the award-winning Restaurant Gary Danko. Highlights are listed below.

In Napa:

- One night in three deluxe suites at the Villagio Inn and Spa in Yountville. Enjoy the spa service of your choice and a Champagne breakfast.

- Private lunch and tour with tasting at Beringer Vineyards in St. Helena.
