Boston

  • Tea party. Shoebox-sized Tealuxe in Harvard Square has opened a second location, this one on Newbury Street, with two floors of seating plus table service for one of the most comprehensive tea menus in the city. A third location is under construction.

  • Fire & Ice is another Harvard Square business crossing the river, to Berkeley Street in Back Bay. Owners John Schall and Jim Miller let customers choose their raw ingredients and sauces for meals cooked to order.

  • Paolo Diecidue (Trattoria A Scalinatella) has opened Bottega, a haven for oenophiles in the North End managed by Peter Nelson,former sommelier of Locke-Ober and Bib.

  • Chef Chris Douglass of Icarus recently bought out partners Tom Hall and John Bellott and is giving the space a long-needed face-lift. Hall andBellott retain Gusto, a 44-seat pasta place in Roslindale, where Bellott runs the dining room, and Hall works in the kitchen with chef Jim Mercer.

  • PegGenovese and Sarah Leahey have succeeded Greg Case as pastry chefs at Hamersley's Bistro.

  • Bacari has opened on Boylston Street with an Italian menu by executive chef John Delpha (ex-Harvest, Mistral).

  • Christine DiDuca has opened The Dish on Shawmut Avenue, across from the Franklin Cafe. The wood oven turns out pizzas and eclectic comfort food. Chef Chris Morales comes from Tapeo and Ciao Bella.

  • The newScience Street Cafe at the Museum of Science offers a place to snack before the latest flick at the Mugar Omni Theatre. Lynda Boothroyd (ex-Rocco's, Noodle Bar) is executive chef of the museum's Creative Gourmet catering service.

  • Siro's owner Kristie Henriksen has teamed up with Francis X. Messina to create Siro's FX I Braintree, which is more elegant than its sister restaurants in Quincy and Hingham. Chef Renée Little serves contemporary Italian food.

  • Go Fish has opened across from the Chestnut Hill Mall on Route 9. The 175-seat restaurant offers fish and meat entrées by Vincent DeTello.

  • Todd English (Olives) plans to open a Latin American-influenced steakhouse later this year in the Cafe Rough space in the Boston Park Plaza hotel.

  • MichaelSzathmary has opened gourmet food store Zathmary's in Needham on the site of Bed & Bath. A second site at CoolidgeCorner is in the works.

  • Tom Tenuta has left the new West Side Lounge in Cambridge near Porter Square. His replacement is Tim Partridge.

  • Bob Hilson(ex-Spasso) and Jamie Tipping (Sali Loft) have openedCoyote@Kendall, a Santa Fe-style grill next to the Kendall Square Cinema and the Blue Room. Chef Kevin Kieley (ex-Porcini in Watertown) has created a mid-priced menu targeted at the art film crowd.

  • The Last Hurrah at the Omni Parker house has reopened after renovations.
