  • Life after Gordon. Now that Carrie Nahabedian is leaving the Four Seasons Beverly Hills to open her own spot this June in the former Gordon space in River North, what's ahead for former Gordon executive chef Don Yamauchi? Turns out he's teaming up with Rich Mott, a partner in Jackson Harbor Grill and North Pond Cafe, to open a fine-dining restaurant nearby, possibly by early summer.

  • P.F. Chang's China Bistro has opened in River North, replete with T'ang Dynasty sculptures and regional Chinese cuisine by executive chef Tim Coonan (ex-Spiaggia).

  • Thanos Grigoriou presides over the menu at QP, the new upscale Greek restaurant in the high-rent Streetsville district.

  • Roger Greenfield and Ted Kasemir of the Restaurant Development Group have opened Napa Chophouse across from the Shubert Theater, serving steak, pasta, shellfish platters, and salads.

  • Dana Hechtman and NicoleParthemore are chef/owners of She She on North Lincoln Avenue. The two previously cooked at Tomboy in Andersonville.

  • Mark Downing (ex-Biloxi Grill, Zinfandel) is chef at Bistro Banlieue in Lombard.

  • TheOriginal Gino's East practically took the kitchen sink with it when it moved from its 35-year-old home on East Superior to the former Planet Hollywood site on Wells Street. Among the items Gino's couldn't leave behind were its vintage pizza ovens and the graffiti-covered paneling.

  • Michael Taus, chef of the popular Zealous in Elmhurst, has opened a branch in the city. It will serve contemporary American food.
