Atlanta

  • Seeing stars. Mobil Travel Guide has awarded five stars to Seeger's, Four Seasons Hotel, and The Dining Room at the Ritz-Carlton, Buckhead. Nikolai's Roof, high atop the Hilton Atlanta, received four for its French cuisine with Russian specialties by executive chef Johannes Klapdohr. Other four-star recipients: Bacchanalia, Canoe, Bones, and Park 75 in the Four Seasons.

  • The Abbey chef Philippe Haddad (ex-Nikolai) has joined Bill Swearingen (Abbey) at the new 85-seat Philippe's Bistro on King's Circle in Peachtree Hills.

  • Bridges has opened on Jones Bridge Road in Alpharetta, with executive chef Ted Lescher and chef de cuisine David Tankersly turning out such innovative dishes as jambalaya with rabbit-rattlesnake sausage, and scaloppini with sun-dried tomato pistachio sauce.

  • Tim Ruys has opened the Southwestern-style Cino Grille in East Cobb.

  • Tony LaRocco has handed over the two Fratelli di Napoli upscale Italian restaurants to Jerry Heilpern and Jim Prince, who plan to expand into restaurant-hot Alpharetta.

  • The Prime Meridian dining room has opened in the Omni Hotel at CNN Center, with executive chef Kevin Palm serving specialty dishes from around the world.

  • Araxi, the upscale European restaurant in East Cobb, has closed, along with Buckhead's Amerigo Italian eatery.
