  • Raw deal. If you take vegetarian food seriously, visit Organic Garden, a new vegan restaurant on Cabot Street in Beverly. Chef/owner Robert Yarosh presents a menu of entirely raw food, which he says better preserves vitamins and flavor.

  • Go Fish, which recently opened in Chestnut Hill, has tragically burned down. (HAVE QUERIED AUTHOR FOR MORE INFO TK).

  • Q-Vin is a new Korean and Japanese restaurant in the former Boylston Street spot of La Mer. Partners Paul and Jung Ja Chang, and J.C. Kim serve authentic sushi and Korean favorites.

  • Chef Jim Corbin's career has taken him to New York, Beverly Hills, and Boston's Parker House. Now, he has opened the fusion restaurant Blue Basil in Rowley.

  • This year's Anthony Spinazzola Foundation Gala Festival of Food & Wine raised more than $500,000 to fund hunger-relief agencies and related programs.

  • Glenn Tanner has been hired as the Olive Group's first beverage director. The ex-L'Espalier sommelier will oversee Figs, Olives, Kingfish Hall, Miramar, Onda, Tamarind, and whatever comes next (hint: Figs at New York's La Guardia airport).

  • Evan and Candice Deluty have promoted Jon Adelson from sous-chef to chef de cuisine of Torch.

  • The Union Square Bistro in Somerville has closed.
