San Diego

  • From A to See-ya. Downtown landmark Mr. A's restaurant has been sold to Bertrand Hug of Rancho Santa Fe's Mille Fleurs fame. After a major renovation, the restaurant will serve modern French cuisine. No chef has been named.

  • Guy Sockrider has returned to the Top O' The Cove as executive chef after a brief hiatus in Palm Springs.

  • Hanis Cavin (ex-Mixx, Kensington Grill, Chive) is executive chef at Dakota Grill & Spirits in the Gaslamp, replacing Brian Freerksen. The restaurant is part of the Cohn Restaurant Group.

  • Glatt kosher bistro Le Marais (no relation to the New York kosher steakhouse of the same name), a first for San Diego county, has opened in La Jolla, next to Samson's deli. Executive chef Herve Glin cooks and bakes for both properties. .
