From A to See-ya. Downtown landmark Mr. A's restaurant has been sold to Bertrand Hug of Rancho Santa Fe's Mille Fleurs fame. After a major renovation, the restaurant will serve modern French cuisine. No chef has been named. Guy Sockrider has returned to the Top O' The Cove as executive chef after a brief hiatus in Palm Springs. Hanis Cavin (ex-Mixx, Kensington Grill, Chive) is executive chef at Dakota Grill & Spirits in the Gaslamp, replacing Brian Freerksen. The restaurant is part of the Cohn Restaurant Group. Glatt kosher bistro Le Marais (no relation to the New York kosher steakhouse of the same name), a first for San Diego county, has opened in La Jolla, next to Samson's deli. Executive chef Herve Glin cooks and bakes for both properties. . |
