• Turn of the century. Jack Evrensel, proprietor of the popular CinCin Restaurant and Bar in Vancouver and Araxi Restaurant and Bar in Whistler, has purchased the former Century Grill location in Vancouver's trendy Yaletown area. The new venture will undergo extensive renovations before reopening later this year.

• The Westin Bayshore has reopened after a multi-million upgrade.

• Brock Windsor, former co-chef at Vancouver Island's Sooke Harbour House, is now at André St. Jacques's Bear Foot Bistro in Whistler.

• Peter Bodnar Rod has left C Restaurant, where he was general manager and sommelier, for Toronto.

• Chef Julian Bond has left Oritalia Restaurant after one year to pursue other interests.

• Manager/sommelier Stuart Warmbath has left the Pan Pacific Hotel's Five Sails Restaurant.

• Brent Davies, owner of the popular waterfront Cardero's, Seasons in the Park, and The Teahouse, has opened a $2.5-million (CDN) restaurant on Vancouver's Granville Island. The Sandbar has 300 seats and features a fresh seafood bar.

• Restaurant mogul Umberto Menghi has opened the impressive Circolo in Yaletown.
